Next on the pea and ham soup agenda. Looks like a genuine ham hock, and I can’t wait to cook it. (It’s currently in the freezer.)
Deducted one star because I haven’t cooked them yet (popped them into freezer.) They look really meaty and fresh.
Ordering was straightforward, and delivery was on time, really well packaged with frozen blocks to keep everything cold. Couldn’t fault it.
These are very generously sized! I could only manage half but what I had was really tasty. My husband loved them. Deeply savoury, seasoned exactly as they should be. I served ours with home made onion gravy and greens: it made a delicious meal.
Popped these into the crock pot with usual casserole ingredients, plus some apple, and cider as the ‘stock’ first thing, Served with mash and greens several hours later. Kitchen smelt amazing during cooking process, and the casserole was delicious, the pork especially so.
I was really looking forward to cooking this - a trip down memory lane from childhood watching my mum make smoked ham hock and split pea soup (my dad was a pork butcher). Sadly I found the ‘smoked’ flavour far too aggressive for my taste. The smoked smell was really pronounced - I soaked the joint in water over two nights in the fridge, but it didn’t dilute the smell. I guess the modern smoking techniques use liquid smoke? Not for me unfortunately. Made said soup (can’t bear waste). Froze into single portions as husband said he’d take it to work for lunches. Trying the unsmoked one next. I have high hopes for that!
This was my first time roasting a leg of lamb and I was not only impressed and delighted, I’m now a convert. If lamb fans or lamb-curious want a great place to start, this would be it. Excellent quality and portion.

I have spoken to the owner before placing an Order and She was so humble and guided me properly and as she promised I have received my delivery on time and packed in such a nice way. Will definitely order again and recommend to each and everyone if you are really looking for something healthy for your friends and family.

Tripe is not easy to obtain these days as demand has decreased. I am very pleased that Kimbers stock it and I hope they continue to do so. It was tender and delicious
